Lavender Graduation is a cultural celebration that recognizes the achievements and contributions of LGBTQ+ students who have successfully navigated the college experience. During the ceremony, we will honor graduating seniors and graduate students with lavender cords and a reception. We envision an event where students, family, staff, and faculty are encouraged to attend, establishing a new tradition at The University of Mississippi. The Lavender Graduation Celebration is co-sponsored by the Center for Inclusion & Cross Cultural Engagement, the Sarah Isom Center for Women & Gender Studies, the UM Pride Network, Queer People of Color, the Department of Student Housing, and supported by the newly formed Ole Miss LGBTQ Alumni & Friends organization. The 3rd annual ceremony will be held Friday, May 4, 2018 from 4:00pm-5:30pm in the Student Union Ballroom. Registration for graduates is now open and will close on Friday, April 20, 2018. Family, friends, faculty, staff, and continuing students are welcomed to join us, but must RSVP by Friday, April 27, 2018.
